Reports suggested that Al Hilal were considering a new coach

Al Hilal coach Italian Simone Inzaghi’s fate at Liverpool is in jeopardy as reports of his imminent departure suggest.

Ben Jacobs, a reliable journalist, confirmed that Al Hilal is considering removing Inzaghi from his post. And signing current Nottingham Forest manager Vitor Pereira from Portugalstarting next season.

Saudi newspaper Al-Youm has confirmed that Inzaghi’s final fate is still undecided as he continues to wait for the official end of his contract with the new sporting director.

The newspaper clarified that the new sports director of Al Hilal club will be the Scottish Richard Hughes, who currently holds the same position at Liverpool club, where he will lead the Saudi club at Mercato next summer.

According to the newspaper, the first order of business for the Scottish sporting director is to resolve Inzaghi’s fate within a week or two at the most, before hiring a new coach once his departure is confirmed.

The Italian coach took over the leadership of Al Hilal after the end of the previous season, replacing the Portuguese Jorge Jesus, and after a historic victory over Manchester City, Al Zaim was able to reach the quarter-finals of the 2025 Club World Cup.

However, Al-Hilal suffered badly last season as they lost the Roshan League title to their neighbors and traditional rivals, Al-Nasr. It also bid farewell to the AFC Champions League for the elite in the final, while the sole crown was the guardian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup.
