Dyson’s PencilWash cordless floor cleaner is retails for $199.99 ($150 off) at Amazon. This is the lowest price of a wetsuit that is the human’s silly-but-awesome cousin. Dyson PencilVac Fluffycones empty
The PencilWash takes the sleek styling and design of the PencilVac and turns it into a single-purpose electric vacuum cleaner. It’s designed for all types of hard-core steel, and its slim head and curved neck allow it to be low enough to reach under furniture. Dyson says you can get 30 minutes of cleaning time before you plug it into the included dock, and the 300ml water tank is expected to cover up to 1,000 square meters before needing to be refilled.
Although the name of the pencil is cute, and the mop looks svelte, remember that it weighs five pounds (heavier than the PencilVac) before adding water or cleaning solution to its tank. But its self-propelled brush should help you push the cord around your area without weighing you down too much – until you scrub the stairs.
$200 isn’t cheap for a single-purpose cleaning tool (let alone its full $350 price tag), but the PencilWash costs less than the $600 PencilVac Fluffycones. Our smart home reviewer, Jennifer Pattison Tuohy, called the PencilVac “the perfect companion for getting rid of your robots.” PencilWash is like a friend of a friend.
