The Portuguese coach is struggling to select a starting line-up
Croatia’s Marcelo Brozovic, Al-Nasr’s midfielder, has blamed his Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus hours before the crucial match against Damascus in Saudi Arabia’s Roshan League.
In the thirty-fourth and final round of the Rushen League, Al-Nasr hosts Damak at Al-Awal Park Stadium today, Thursday.
Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiah wrote that Jesus is still confused about the choice of player to replace Brozovic in the midfield, even though there are less than 4 hours left for the match.
Brozovic will miss the match due to the injury he is currently suffering from, which also ruled him out of the AFC Champions League 2nd leg against Japan’s Gamba Osaka last Saturday.
The newspaper clarified that the Portuguese coach preferred to play between Saad Al-Nasser and Ayman Yahya alongside Abdullah Al-Khaibari in midfield, in addition to Brazilian Angelo, whose full readiness for the match has not been confirmed.
Jesus will work to determine the technical and physical fitness of the trio before making his final decision on the starting line-up for the technical match.
Al-Nasr head into the Damascus match at the top of the Saudi league table with 83 points, two points clear of second-placed Al-Hilal.
Al Alami need to win any result to officially win the Saudi Roshan League title after a seven-year absence, while they could lose the title if they slip up against Damac, where their neighbors and arch-rivals Al-Hilal also beat their hosts Al-Fayha.
