Michael Oliz continues to cement his position as one of the most recognizable faces in European football, quickly becoming a staple at Bayern Munich and also beginning to make his mark on the world stage with the France national team.
Bayern Munich are set to move to secure the French winger’s future with a new long-term deal, according to reports, given the levels he has put in since joining the German club and the interest he has received from a number of Europe’s biggest clubs.
According to journalist Nicolo Schira, “Bayern” plans to extend Olissi’s contract until 2031, and the negotiations will be completed after the end of the 2026 World Cup.
Shear added on Platform X that the Bayern club are set to give the 24-year-old a significant pay rise in recognition of his contributions last season, which could make him the team’s second-highest-paid player behind England striker Harry Kane.
The move to Bayern comes as Olissey’s name has been linked with interest from top European clubs including Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, prompting the German club’s management to accelerate their moves to retain one of their most important attacking elements. Olissei’s current contract runs until 2029, but Bayern’s management appear keen to close the deal on his future early as part of their plans to maintain the core structure of the team in the coming years.
The France international’s brilliance was not limited to club level as he continued to perform strongly with his country’s national team at the World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
Olisse contributed to France’s 3-1 win over Senegal at the start of the group stage on Tuesday when he provided an assist for Mbappe to score the first goal to break the Senegalese deadlock and open the door for Olisse to confirm the continuation of the remarkable form he showed with Bayern Munich last season.
The French winger was one of the standout winners last season given his evolving role in the German squad and his ability to transfer his influence to the national team, reinforcing Bayern’s belief in the need to tie him down to a new contract before competition for his services increases.
