A return trip at the match whistle.
Egypt’s national team delegation will not remain in the United States to watch Morocco in the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup after Ibrahim Hassan set a date to return to Cairo.
It is planned that the “Pharaohs” delegation will leave for the United States of America at a time that exactly coincides with the start of the confrontation of “Atlas Lions” against France.
Egypt’s national team manager Ibrahim Hassan announced that the Pharaohs’ delegation will leave Atlanta at 16:00 US time, 23:00 Cairo time, after a dramatic 3-2 exit from the round of 16 against Argentina.
Egypt were leading 2-0 until the 79th minute before the match turned upside down with Argentina scoring three goals in 14 minutes amid a wide-ranging refereeing dispute that sparked global reactions.
Ibrahim Hasan explained in his statements. The official website of the Football AssociationThe return journey to Cairo will take more than 12 continuous hours.
The timing of the flight means the mission will be in the air by the time the whistle blows for the quarter-final match between Morocco and France, which officially rules that no official Egyptian delegation will attend to support the only remaining Arab team in the tournament.
The Football Association announced the extension of the contracts of twins Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan until 2030 in recognition of their “historic achievement” at the World Cup, despite the harsh sending off that ended the Pharaohs’ dream in a way the world has not forgotten.
