Jose Mourinho is set to begin his second spell at Real Madrid after the club yesterday announced the departure of interim manager Alvaro Arbeloa, who took charge of the team in the second half of last season.
Benfica confirmed in an official statement yesterday that Real Madrid have informed Mourinho of their intention to pay the €15 million release clause in Mourinho’s contract, which the Portuguese club has informed his country’s Securities and Exchange Commission to complete the process of parting with Mourinho, revealing the appointment of Marco Silva in his place.
Sky Sports said today. “Jose Mourinho will leave Lisbon for Madrid this Wednesday afternoon to complete his return to Real Madrid.”
He added: “Mourinho will start his work immediately at the stadium upon his arrival.”
Real will release a statement later on Wednesday announcing the re-appointment of the “exceptional coach” on a three-year contract. He must accompany with him five members of the technical staff.”
“At the moment, there are no plans to organize a press conference or a reception. This will be announced in the coming days.”
