The Portuguese coach is between two curses… Will he escape this time?
About a year ago, specifically at the end of April 2025, Portugal’s Jorge Jesus was facing the worst crisis of his coaching career. Under his leadership, Al Hilal crashed out of the AFC Champions League semi-finals, losing 1-3 to Al Ahli, a defeat that broke the foundation of a relationship that had appeared deadlocked a few rounds before the deadline. On May 2, Al-Zeim officially announced the termination of the contract with its “veteran” coach by mutual consent.
The decision ended an exceptional chapter in which he led the team to a world record 34-game winning streak.
