Senegal national team coach Pape Tiau expressed his regret for the missed opportunities and the inefficiency of the attack during the defeat against France (3-1) in the first round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup yesterday, Tuesday.
Tiau said in a statement to one of the newspapers “Athletic”“When we look at the match as a whole, if we had been more effective, we could have gone 1-0 or even 2-0 at the end of the first half.”

It is noteworthy that the Senegalese team showed a strong performance in the first half, but it was not the last time, as they wasted at least two dangerous chances through Nicolas Jackson and Ismaila Sarr, while the French team, using their superior technical capabilities, decided the match in the second half (3-1).
