Motorola Edge 2026 for $600: I had a wonderful month with the new Motorola Edge. It’s surprisingly light at just 160 grams, and the 6.3-inch screen size feels compact. If you hate big, heavy phones and long for the days of smaller handsets, the Edge is worth a look; no such as small, but it feels good to use one hand. Performance is adequate, although you will feel laziness here and there. The cameras are reliable – there’s even a 3X optical zoom telephoto alongside the 50-MP ultrawide and 50-MP primary – but they’re not going to knock your socks off. You only get two Android OS updates and three years of security updates, which is not really acceptable for a $600 phone. Get it on sale!
Motorola Razr+ 2026 for $1,100: The Razr+ is the middle child of the Razr line. I’ve never liked it. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles or advanced features of the Ultra, but it still costs more than $1,000. You can get almost the same with a cheaper Razr and save hundreds. Even the battery life is very limited, because it has very little power. The glass cover is mixed with ceramic glass like on the Razr Ultra, and I noticed it with difficulty. I dropped the phone once, about four feet on the asphalt, and the front cover cracked. Get a screen shot!

Moto G 5G 2026 for $299: The Moto G 2026 is almost identical to the Moto G Play 2026 below, except that it has double the storage (expandable via microSD), supports faster wireless charging, and the front and rear cameras pack more megapixels. That’s a $50 difference, so if you’re looking for one, you should go for the Moto G 5G 2026. The performance is also sluggish, even for day-to-day use (if you’re patient). Even with more megapixels, don’t expect much from the cameras; they can take decent photos, but struggle in low light. I was able to hit about two days of battery life with average use, and I love that this phone still has a headphone jack. However, keep in mind that it will receive only two Android OS updates and three years of security updates. I think it is better for you to buy Moto G Power 2026 on sale. It is worth noting that Motorola suddenly increased the prices of this device with the Moto G Play.
Moto G Play 5G 2026 for $250: Motorola’s most affordable phone is always in a tough spot. It was originally under $200, but Motorola raised the price to $250. I don’t think it’s worth it for that price, but under $200, it’s a smartphone that uses 5G. You get two-day battery life, a built-in headphone jack, extra storage space, and a great design. But the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip with 4 GB of RAM is very slow – be prepared to wait a second or two, sometimes more, for an app to load or a website to load. Image quality is passable; Most of my photos have missing colors. I made several calls, and people on the other end often complained about my voice quality, which is not good. It’s great that this budget phone will get two Android OS updates, but I’ll wait for the Moto G Power 2026 to drop to $250 for the big sales event.
What Motorola Phones Should Avoid

Motorola phones depreciate quickly. You should avoid buying Moto G phones from 2025 or later. They probably won’t get Android version updates, and their prices won’t be much different from the latest versions. Last year’s Motorola Edge 2025 or Razr (2025) is the oldest I’d go for, considering the prices are much lower than the latest models, so don’t consider anything else.
