The last Crumb cookies are expensive. But it is very tasty. I love the packaging of the gift box and the branding (for example, the 24-pack is named after DiCaprio), but I love the cakes more. There are 12 flavors in the Core Collection, with additional flavors coming as limited edition offerings. They can be reheated in the microwave or reheated in the oven before eating, and individually wrapped, sealed cookies can be stored on the counter for up to two weeks or in the freezer for up to two months.
I tried the Last Crumb cakes in Everything But the Candles (birthday cake flavors bursting with rich vanilla icing and tons of sprinkles); Bottom is Lava (chocolate lava cake that is sweet but cocoa-forward, slightly bitter, and is best enjoyed over the hours, one bite at a time); and What Velvet, which was my favorite of the bunch. The red velvet dressing was sticky, shiny, shiny, good, filled with cream cheese that made a noise I won’t describe here. The cookies are thick and firm, and are made with premium ingredients such as Plugrà slow-release butter with 82 percent butterfat, premium chocolate from Barry Callebaut, and Tahitian vanilla beans. I have eaten many cakes in my life. I have never eaten cookies like this.
There are special, seasonal, limited edition bundles available from time to time. On Mother’s Day, you can check Mother Editwhich has six different flavors ranging from banana cream pie to blueberry muffin.
