Atletico Madrid have lodged a complaint with the European Football Association (UEFA) against Arsenal ahead of the Champions League semi-final second leg at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.
Last week, the first match at the “Metropolitano” stadium ended in a draw (1-1).
The newspaper reported.come onThe Spanish newspaper notes that this protest was caused by a group of Arsenal fans setting off fireworks near the Atletico Madrid players’ hotel before going to bed yesterday, Monday evening.
The newspaper added that the “perfectly orchestrated” fireworks display began at 1.30am GMT, before another round of fireworks caused chaos at 2am.
He noted that Atletico officials were quick to inform the European Football Association (UEFA) of the underhand methods, adding that the incident would likely be discussed in a meeting between the two teams before the game.
Ahead of the first leg in Madrid last Wednesday, Arsenal made their own complaint about the state of the pitch at the Metropolitano.
