Argentina’s President Javier Mele has launched a scathing attack on actress and media personality Florencia Peña after she falsely reported the death of Argentina star Lionel Messi’s father Jorge Messi on Luzu TV.

A few hours after the incident, Florencia Peña appeared on live television in an emotional state, crying, and officially apologized to the public and Messi’s family.

Argentina’s controversial president, Javier Mele, was quick to comment on the incident as he issued a lengthy tweet in which he strongly criticized what happened, calling what Peña said “disgraceful and immoral”.
Meli took the opportunity to criticize the Argentine media, saying through her account on the “X” platform: “When you think you’ve seen it all in the media, someone comes along to remind us that you can always go further, you can always say something more horrible, and you can always do more damage.”

The president of Argentina added: “At least the channel had the decency to correct the information and expel this malicious person, something that has never happened, not even once, in the media or newspapers, which include in their ranks countless journalists who are tired of polluting, misrepresenting or offending everyone.”
