Ten killed in Russian attack on Kiev

At least 16 people were killed in Russia’s attack on Ukraine overnight, and 10 people were killed in a ballistic missile attack outside Kiev, the country’s official said.

Writing on social media, Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that around 100 people were injured in Kiev, emergency services were still on the scene, and five others were killed in the eastern city of Slovansk.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s overnight attack killed six people and wounded 26 in the Russian city of Kirov, more than 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) from the front line.

Ukraine also attacked and set fire to warehouses of Durberry – Russia’s largest online retailer – in and around St. Petersburg.

In the attack near Kiev, Russia appears to have involved Defense Ministry adviser Sergei Beskrestnov, aka Flash, and Yuba Shupovich, in developing technology for the Ukrainian military.

Following the incident, both took to social media to confirm that they are safe.

Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuri Ikhnat told Ukraine TV that the attack involved three ballistic missiles, only one of which was intercepted.

The attack took place in the middle of the day at a training ground not far from Kiev where a military exhibition was being held and representatives of the Ukrainian defense industry were present.

In the year This is at least the third time such an exhibition has taken place since Russia began a full-scale invasion in 2022.

There is widespread outrage that such a public event is held at all and is openly advertised.

President Zelensky said the incident is being investigated, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine said efforts are being made to find out who decided to hold the event and what security measures are in place.

In Ukraine’s first attack on Wilberry over the weekend, two warehouses were hit in Elektrostal, east of Moscow, and in Kotovsk, in the Tambov region, about 400 km (250 miles) from the Ukrainian border.

Seven night shift workers were killed in Kotovsk and one was fatally injured by electrocution. Dozens were injured and £750m ($1 billion) worth of property was destroyed.

The attack on retail has taken a heavy toll on small and medium-sized businesses in Russia.
