After last week’s heat, the first full week of May is set to see temperatures drop across the UK.
Temperatures soared to 25C (77F) in parts of England on Friday, but this week is shaping up to be noticeably colder.
There is a mixed forecast for this May Bank Holiday.
Scotland started on a frosty note before a passing weather front set the scene for rain further north. But the picture is brighter elsewhere, spring-like and pleasantly warm in the sunlight thanks to the May sun.
Northern Ireland will be fine throughout the day, mostly dry with sunny spells.
In England and Wales, where the early patchy fog cleared quickly, cloudy skies are expected to prevail through the afternoon. It should feel warmer than Sunday in northern parts of England and Wales as the cloud breaks and sunshine emerges.
Further south, however, sunshine will be more limited, and thunderstorms are more likely.
