Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the signing of the cooperation agreement in Switzerland, which is expected to take place on Friday, may take place in the presence of President Masoud Pezeshkian and Donald Trump.

Earlier, Iran announced that Washington and Tehran would be represented by Vice President JD Vance and Speaker of Parliament and chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, respectively.

A US official, in a press briefing on Wednesday, said the agreement would establish a new “limited” way to limit Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium and includes measures to protect “Lebanon’s territory” following Israel’s latest attack on Hezbollah in the country.

In exchange, Washington would want to drop, though not lift, some of its restrictions on Iran after the deal is signed.

The document signed by the US also guarantees free passage through the Strait of Hormuz for only 60 days, leaving open the possibility that travel expenses could be paid later, the official added on condition of anonymity.
