T20 World Cup: England ready for heat and West Indies, says Charlie Dean

Crowds were reduced for Tuesday’s World Cup matches in Bristol due to the heat.

A fourth win for England on Wednesday would ensure a place in the semi-finals of the tournament.

West Indies, who defeated England in the 2024 T20 World Cup, made it three wins in three in this tournament but were pushed out by New Zealand and Scotland. England beat West Indies 3-0 in the T20 series last year.

Dean again appoints Nate Sciver-Brunt, who is unlikely to play again for team reasons. Calf injury.

Sciver-Brunt could return to practice later this week but will need another scan before being cleared to play.

“She’s been around the team and she’s been tracking really well, which is great,” Dean said.

Having Nat on the field gives us confidence, the level of player she is and the leader she is.

I’m ready to step it up if needed but hopefully you’ll get back to us soon.
