Super League: Leeds Rhinos hammer Huddersfield Giants to go top; Josh Charnley hits hat-trick against Leigh Leopards Hull FC | Rugby League News

Mikolaj Olejski and Harry Newman both scored twice as Leeds bounced back from thrashing Huddersfield 52-0 at Wigan last week.

Prop Oledzki and center Newman went down in quick succession within the first 11 minutes and two more quickfire tries from Ryan Hall and Brodie Croft – all four converted by Jack Connor – gave Leeds a 24-0 half-time lead.

Micah Sivo made his 19th Super League start this season in 11 games in the second half, Newman and Oledzki both again dotted down for doubles and there were further scores for James McDonnell and Luca Atkinson, with Connor landing eight of his nine conversion attempts.

Highlights of the Super League match between Leigh Leopards and Hull FC.

After a narrow defeat to Hull KR last time out, Adrian Lamm turned in a dominant second-half performance that saw them add 30 unanswered points. Charnley crossed three times and AJ Towse, Umila Hanley, Frankie Halton, David Armstrong and Bailey Hodgson got on the scoresheet.

The game was goalless for almost over an hour before Charnley broke the deadlock in the 17th minute. Jack Hardaker hit back for the visitors, equalizing with his own try after latching on to Cade Cast’s kick before slotting the conversion to take a slim lead.

Hanley set up Charnley for his second try and Tows followed suit as they ran in two tries in three minutes just before the half time break for a 12-6 lead.

Hanley went clear soon after the restart and Halton was next, with Adam Cook eventually adding a conversion at the fifth try.

Charnley grabbed his third and Halton, Armstrong and Lam all pierced the Hull defense to keep the scores coming. Cook added two more kicks to finish eight to three, completely outscoring the visitors.
