Thiago Silva (from Porto to Fluminense – free transfer)
Thiago Silva isn’t done yet… The 41-year-old former AC Milan and Chelsea defender made a surprise return to Fluminense in his native Brazil after his contract with Portuguese league champions Porto expired.
Silva made just eight league appearances for Francesco Farioli’s side last season and has agreed a contract extension until the end of 2026, likely to be the final months of his busy football career.
Ibrahima Konate (from Liverpool to Real Madrid – free transfer)
Jose Mourinho has made a move to add more Premier League experience to Real Madrid for the 2026-27 season by signing former Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate on a free transfer.
The Frenchman comes with plenty of experience as he was one of the mainstays in Arne Slott’s side to win the Premier League title in the 2024-25 season and his arrival is seen as a great deal with no transfer fees to be paid.
Vedat Muric (Mallorca to Fenerbahce: £13m)
Veteran striker Vedat Muriqui has proven to be one of the stars of the 2025-26 La Liga season, scoring an incredible 23 goals for Real Mallorca, second only to Kylian Mbappe.
His 32-year-old age did not stop Fenerbahce from signing him as the Turkish giants completed a £13m deal to sign the Kosovo international on a three-year deal.
Afonso Moreira (from Lyon to Bayer Leverkusen – £27.5m)
Portugal U-21 national team player Afonso Moreira moved to the German club “Bayer Leverkusen”, where he signed a contract to extend until 2031.
In the 2025-2026 season, the winger played 27 matches for Lyon, scoring 4 goals, and Leverkusen’s sporting director Simon Rolfes commented: “His speed and intense style of play fit our team perfectly.”
Victor Munoz (from Osasuna to Liverpool: £34m)
Liverpool have successfully thwarted Newcastle United’s bid to sign Osasuna winger Victor Munoz by quickly completing the signing of the 22-year-old after placing a £34m release clause in his contract.
The signing is Andoni Iraola’s first major deal since joining from Bournemouth, where Munoz, who specializes in the left-back position, is currently playing for Spain at the World Cup.
Jan-Paul van Heck (Brighton to Tottenham – £52m)
Tottenham have strengthened their defensive options at centre-back with the signing of Brighton centre-back Jan-Paul van Heck.
The Dutch international, who started alongside new Tottenham team-mate Mickey van de Ven at the World Cup, has emerged as one of the Premier League’s best centre-backs over the past few years, helping Brighton qualify for the Europa League after finishing eighth last season.
