Mohamed Al-Breik, a current NEOM and former Al-Hilal player, became the focus of widespread controversy during the clash between the two teams after he conceded an early penalty for Al-Za’em in a crucial match for the Saudi Roshan League title race.
The eighth minute of the match saw Mohamed Al-Brek’s tackle on France’s Theo Hernandez on the edge of the penalty area, sending the Al-Hilal left-back to the ground before the referee blew his whistle to award a direct penalty to the hosts.
