Steve Clarke has signed a new contract with Scotland until 2030

Head coach Steve Clarke has signed a new Scotland contract to cover the next two World Cups and Euro 2028.

The 62-year-old led his country to their first World Cup since 1998, following back-to-back Euro qualifiers, but his future was in doubt.

However, with just over two weeks until Scotland begin their tournament against Haiti in Boston, Clarke has committed to a further four years in charge.

“After 28 years in charge of my team, I am honored to win the Men’s World Cup for the first time and I am proud to continue as head coach,” he said.

“I know Scotland fans will appreciate this team’s back-to-back Euro qualification wins and I know the whole nation is delighted to have qualified for the 2026 World Cup after a long time.

“It’s important to look ahead, and as my team does their best to make America proud this summer, it’s reassuring to know that we want to build on these foundations for the long term.”
