Barcelona won their 29th La Liga title with a 2-0 El Clasico victory over rivals Real Madrid last night in La Liga.
Barcelona’s goals were scored by Marcus Rashford in the 9th minute and Ferran Torres in the 18th minute, so the Catalan team won the title in ideal fashion and at the expense of a traditional rival.
Alvaro Arbeloa, on the other hand, continued his disastrous run of results at the helm of Real Madrid’s technical staff, after posting an unprecedented negative record in the club’s recent history.
Arbeloa has the longest losing record for a manager who has managed Real Madrid in at least 20 official games in the twenty-first century, having lost eight of the 25 meetings he has faced with the team.
The former Spain defender’s loss rate has reached 32%, the worst of any manager in charge at the club in recent decades, and clearly shows the suffering the team is experiencing under his leadership.
Despite the immense pressure that has always surrounded any manager working within the walls of the Santiago Bernabeu, no previous manager has achieved this high defeat rate early in his career with the team.
