Starmer hinted at a bank holiday if England win the World Cup

The Prime Minister has strongly hinted that there will be more bank holidays if England win the World Cup.

Thomas Tuchel’s side will play Norway in the quarter-finals on Saturday night.

The finals will be held on Sunday, July 19.

Sir Keir Starmer is widely expected to step down as Prime Minister tomorrow, to be replaced by Andy Burnham.

If England make the final, it is likely that the Prime Minister will be at the game, which could delay the handover for a short while.

Regarding the idea of an extra day off for people in England, Sir Keir said: “In the case of the Bank Holiday, I don’t think I want to mince it, but if we get to the final, ask me again.”

It is understood that the additional bank holiday will be the Friday following England’s victory – July 24.

However, England’s first place in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals is no small feat.
