For the second day in a row, every paper leads on the future of Sir Keir Starmer’s premiership. The Financial Times says “Starmer throws down gauntlet to rivals” and reports the prime minister is still “in power” on Tuesday evening. The newspaper added that Sir Kiir’s supporters believed he had withdrawn from a challenge from Health Secretary Wes Streeting, who said he did not have the support of the 81 MPs needed to launch a rival bid.
