Spanish journalist. Perez believes in superstitions… and doesn’t trust Klopp

Journalist Juanma Castillo, director of the program “El Partidazo”, confirmed on Radio Cuba that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez no longer trusts any coach, stating that he has run out of patience with technical managers as he intellectually leaves football after winning everything.

According to Spain’s Mundo Deportivo, the 2025-2026 season is coming to an end with a disappointing performance for Real Madrid, as the team is without a title pending official confirmation of their La Liga title loss, which Barcelona can celebrate at the Spotify Camp Nou next Sunday.

Madrid’s failure this season has fueled speculation about the shape of the upcoming roster and who will be chosen to take the technical reins next season.

Juanma Castillo was quick to speak out about Florentino Perez’s management at Real Madrid as Castillo analyzed the Madrid side’s painful exit from the Champions League quarter-finals against Bayern Munich, saying:

“The problem is that Perez is not convinced by any coach, even if Jurgen Klopp comes, which seems impossible. I have a feeling that if the coach does something on the third day that Florentino doesn’t like, he will say. The legacy is impressive because he built a great club, a great sporting city and a great stadium.”

The Bernabeu stadium is controversial as some members tell me that there is a lack of space compared to other stadiums of the same level in Europe. It stands out for its magnificent location in the city center and easy access, but it faces the problem that it was designed to be the largest concert center in Europe, while now it is a stadium that cannot host concerts, which led to a large loss of revenue.

Due to the insistence of the president of Real Madrid, the club did not ask to host the Champions League final, as next year’s final will be held at the Metropolitano, as Florentino believes that if he asks, he will not play in the final because no one will win the title in his stadium.

“It’s amazing that someone as established commercially as Perez in Spain has a very simple fan behavior like being annoyed by a fan or believing in superstition. That’s what football gives you. It equalizes those at the top of the pyramid with those at the bottom because they have the same feelings about football.”
