South Africa reasserted their dominance over England with a commanding win at Ellis Park, the result rarely in doubt in 80 bruising minutes.
The Boks raced into a 17-point lead within 11 minutes and England were stunned by the pace, energy and cohesion of the hosts.
Strong scores from Ellis Genge and George Martin just before half-time gave England a glimmer of hope.
But South Africa turned the screw after the break, scoring three more tries to canter to victory as England fell well short of the gold standard set by the double reigning world champions.
This is Springboks’ fourth win in a row against England.
England’s Nations Championship campaign continues against Fiji at Liverpool’s Hill Dickinson Stadium on July 11 before returning to the southern hemisphere against Argentina on July 18.
