The Odyssey they may be cleaning up at the box office for now, but in two weeks another mega-blockbuster hits theaters: Spider-Man: A New Day, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings). Sony Pictures has dropped the final trailer for this sequel to 2021 No Way Home, which is said to set up three new films with Tom Holland in the title role.
There is no Native Method it ended very tragicallyand Peter Parker (Holland) asks Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to scan everyone’s memories to protect the various species, including his girlfriend MJ (Zendaya). According to the official description:
It’s a Brand New Day to Peter Parker. Constantly fighting crime as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him—and the pressure of seeing his old friends go without him—causes a change in Peter that he may not have the power to control. But this transformation may also be the only thing that can stop a new threat to the city and its loved ones – a villain no one can see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but they haven’t.
Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, alongside Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Peter’s old friend Ned Leeds. The film also stars Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion (adopted by Spider-Man in. Back home), Marvin Jones III as albino crime lord Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone, Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil (briefly Peter’s lawyer in There is no Native Method); Liza Colon-Zayas as police officer Jean DeWolf; Eman Esfandi as MJ’s new girlfriend; and Trammell Tillman as Bill Metzger of the Department of Defense (DODC) who runs a high-powered police force.
