Skullcandy’s bass-boosting Crusher headphones now come with Bose’s ANC

Skullcandy has announced a new version of its Crusher wireless headphones today with limited availability Bose audio technology including its QuietControl ANC and head-following audio center. The Crusher headphone line differentiates itself from the competition by using full and dedicated drivers in each ear cup to boost deep frequencies. Skullcandy admits that the method can lead to a loss of sound quality when the bass is amplified too much, but The new Crusher 1080 ANC they have to deal with fixing this with the help of Bose.

Available starting today for $279.99 in black, candy, prime, and cement colors, the new Crusher 1080 ANC features redesigned drivers with a solid diaphragm material that delivers clarity and detail with minimal distortion. As with previous models in the Crusher line, the bass boost is fully customizable using Skullcandy’s mobile app or the on-head controls that now include the most popular external dial.

The Crusher 1080 ANC will be the first non-Bose headphones to feature the company’s TrueSpatial sound technology with head tracking that works whether you’re standing or running and its WaveForm audio engine that “keeps sound clear, crisp, and smooth.” Skullcandy’s latest will also offer industry-leading noise cancellation with Bose’s QuietControl ANC technology that adjusts as the noise around you gets louder or quieter. The Crusher 1080ANC features Bose’s SpeechClarity that reduces noise so your voice is clear during calls, but it’s not what third-party headphones offer.

Battery life is expected to be up to 60 hours with ANC off, or 50 hours with it on, while a quick 10-minute charge will keep the Crusher 1080 ANC going for four hours if it dies. There’s multipoint pairing for connecting and switching between multiple devices, auto-reconnect and clothing recognition that stops music when you remove the headphones, and a design that folds down for easy storage. Crusher 1080 ANC supports Bluetooth 5.3 with LE Audio, low latency audio, and Auracast.
