Shooting charges against L’Jarius Sneed dropped

Complaints against the former Tennessee Titans cornerback L’Jarius Sneed A December 2024 shooting at a Dallas car dealership has been ruled out.

Sneyd’s Dallas-based criminal defense attorney, Michael J. Todd, made the announcement.

Sneed was originally charged with aggravated assault, but the charge was reduced to a felony count of failure to report an offense likely to result in serious bodily injury or death and knowingly failing to promptly report the commission of a crime to a law enforcement officer. This charge is punishable by one year in county jail and/or a fine of up to $4,000.

The incident happened on December 6, 2024, when Christian Nshimiyimna, who owns an exotic car rental business and was researching vehicles for his company, was sitting inside a Mercedes G-Wagon at a dealership in Carrollton, Texas. Nshimiyimana said Sneed and his personal assistant drove up to the dealership in a rented Lamborghini Urus and shot him as he sat inside his car.

Nshimiyimana filed a $1 million lawsuit against Sneed and a defendant listed as John Doe for “a cold-blooded and unprovoked attack in broad daylight”. According to the lawsuit, Nshimiamana recognized Sneed and his assistant at the car dealership but did not recognize Sneed from his NFL career or television. Nishimiyamna did not even remember meeting Sneed before that day. The defendants may have mistaken Nshimiamana for someone else, the lawsuit said.

The case is still pending.

Snead posted this on social media after the announcement: “I’ve been through so much (for the past two years), the weight is finally off. Tell that devil I’m coming back to try to (steal) him.”

The Titans traded for Snead in March 2024 and signed him to a four-year, $76 million contract. Sneed, a two-time Super Bowl champion with Kansas City ChiefsHas struggled to stay on the field for the Titans, appearing in just 12 games over the past two seasons due to hamstring injuries, quadriceps injuries and knee procedures.

Tennessee released Sneed last March, saving $11.4 million in salary cap space. The move cost the Titans $8.1 million in dead cap money. Sneed is currently a free agent.
