Serena Williams is set to return to tennis at Queen’s Club.

The highest-grossing female athlete of all time, Williams is a woman who has truly transcended her sport, garnering huge audiences throughout her career.

Armed with one of the best serves ever seen in the women’s game, Williams was known for her big groundstrokes, strong serve returns and impressive moves.

After retiring, Williams gave birth to her second daughter in 2023, largely away from the sport.

She spoke on the Today Show about losing 31lb (14kg) over eight months in the US last year.

She said she should see her extra weight as an “opposition”. She told the show that despite “training for five hours a day” and “running, walking, cycling, stair climbing”, she had no choice but to “try something different”.

Although she is a spokeswoman for Roe, the weight-loss drug Williams took, she has also become a spokeswoman for a company that sells brands such as Wegovi and Zepbone GLP-1 (known as Munjaro in the UK) as part of its weight-loss program. Her husband, Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, is an investor.

Williams said she’s reaping the benefits of her efforts in the gym, training for a half marathon and “running harder than me.”
