Scotland leaves for the World Cup – in pictures

With Scotland heading to the World Cup for the first time since 1998, the squad flew to a training base in Florida on Sunday morning.

“It’s the third tournament in this group and we want to be the first Scottish team to get through to the knockout stages,” head coach Steve Clarke said at Glasgow Airport.

“Hopefully we can show some tournament experience and make it a summer to remember.”

A late change has been made to the 26-man squad, with Billy Gilmour injured in Saturday’s friendly against Curacao.

Manchester United’s Tyler Fletcher, 19, replaces the Napoli midfielder.

“Everybody’s devastated for Billy,” Clarke said. “Anytime it happens during a campaign it’s heartbreaking, but it’s especially hard when it happens in a farewell game.”
