Saudi Arabia – Senegal Koura match result

The Saudi Arabian national team recorded a rare draw with their Senegalese counterpart in a friendly match that brought them together early on Wednesday at the Toyota Stadium in the American city of San Antonio as part of the teams’ preparations for the 2026 World Cup.

The match saw a balanced performance from both sides with no goals scored throughout the 90 minutes in a goalless draw, the first of its kind for the Greens in friendlies in four years.

Senegal forward Nicolas Jackson was sent off in the final minutes of the match after picking up two consecutive yellow cards in the 82nd and 84th minutes despite coming on as a second-half substitute.

Saudi Arabia coach Georgios Donis of Greece made ten second-half changes, content to keep goalkeeper Mohamed Al Owais, while Senegal coach Pape Thiau made nine substitutions with Edouard Mendy and Moussa Nyakati still on the field.

The goalless draw against Senegal is the first such result for the Greens in a friendly since their goalless draw against Honduras in October 2022 in the last World Cup build-up.

Saudi Arabia ended their pre-World Cup friendly series that saw them lose 1-2 to Ecuador, then beat Puerto Rico 3-0 before drawing with Senegal.

Al-Akhdar are set to open their 2026 World Cup campaign by facing Uruguay in Group H before taking on Spain and then Cape Verde.
