Saracens’ Totoa Auva was not penalized for the Ben Stokes incident.

Saracens forward Totoa Auva will not be fined after being involved in a nightclub with England’s cricket captain. Ben Stokes and bowler Gus Atkinson.

Stokes and Atkinson were ruled out for England’s second Test defeat in New Zealand.

Saracens have stood by 21-year-old academy player Ova and criticized the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for not involving him in the process.

Stokes and Atkinson breached the team’s midnight curfew and were there when a member of England’s security staff was left bloodied and in need of medical attention after allegedly being hit by an ace.

An ECB disciplinary hearing found that Stokes and Atkinson had “breached specific contractual obligations requiring England players to maintain high standards of conduct at all times and to act in a manner that benefits English cricket”.

But he added, “The blame should not be placed on the players for the violence in the nightclub.”

He confirmed that there was no case for him to answer a specific question by the Cricket Controller.

Saracens said: “While the events that occurred in the early hours of 8 June 2026 are regrettable for all parties involved, the club supports the player involved.”

“The ECB then completed the process and released the statement without any input from Saracens.

After a thorough review of the matter, the club concluded that no further action would be taken and the matter is now closed.
