There may be a long wait before the RAM shortage ends which is driving up prices for everything phones to mobile games. Reuters.
As the head of Samsung’s memory chip business Kim Jaejune said during the earnings call:
“Our products are falling short of what customers need. Based on the data received so far in 2027, the gap in demand in 2027 will be wider than in 2026.”
Samsung’s prediction follows reports earlier this month that the world’s biggest RAM maker may not be able to do so follow the wishes until 2030. Samsung’s chip shortage could worsen if it doesn’t comply with its labor contract, which is they are planning an 18-day strike from May 21st.
