Samsung Movingstyle M7 Review: Screen on Wheels

I’m torn on the Movestyle price, though. I love how cheap it is at $580, putting it in a bigger budget than I would have thought. On the other hand, this is a very special thing, and I think that the higher notes would have been better. It has a VA panel instead of IPS, and this means that the color accuracy and range are good, but not the best. Although it’s only rated for up to 250 nits of brightness, it came out at 310 nits when tested against my colorimeter. But it’s not too bright, which can be difficult in a bright room. Its appearance is not terrible, and this monitor is not designed for professional video work.

And yet, from his point of view, it doesn’t sound too high, either. For the same price, you can get a much better one OLED Monitor it’s bright, fast, sharp, and HDR-capable. But it doesn’t come with a switch, stop. A high-end monitor can increase the price by several hundred dollars. The lack of a touch screen seems like a missed opportunity, too, especially since this can be used near a desk or in the kitchen. There are times when using your fingers is easier than using a remote.

Interestingly, Samsung sells an additional Movingstyle monitor that can be turned on even with a touchscreen and has a high refresh rate of 120 Hz for gaming. But it’s a smaller 27-inch panel, comes with a lower resolution 1440p display, and costs a whopping $1,200. Wow. Another useful feature of the pricier model is the built-in battery. This means that when the cable is released, it does not die immediately. Speaking of cable length, that ends up being one of the failings of the entire design.

In many ways, the expensive model feels like what a Movingstyle project should be. For my purposes, a large 32-inch 4K panel matches my needs perfectly.

LG has its own version of this that moves in that direction, the LG Smart Monitor Swing. It comes with a 4K panel, measures 32 inches, and has a screen that can handle inputs. At $1,000, it is bought between two Movingstyle managers. For Samsung, perhaps the solution would be to sell a convertible stand separately, which would allow you to combine it with any monitor you want.
