Ryan Wilkinson: Out-of-contract Wales players put themselves in the shop window

Another Wales forward, Tiana Tesar, is also currently without a club.

Bristol City Women announced in May that the 20-year-old academy product would leave the club this summer, having spent last season on loan at Plymouth Argyle.

Wilkinson says he has to accept that waiting to discover where some members of his squad will end up is part of “life at the end of the season”.

“It’s difficult because I want my players to be in the best possible conditions at the club (level) and equally in conditions that are nurturing them and supporting them,” he added.

“I very much hope that I can give them any support I can to make sure they have a club as well as working for them.”

Wales will return to action in October, when they play a two-leg play-off semi-final to reach their first ever Women’s World Cup.

Wilkinson’s side will discover their opponents in that tie if the draw takes place on June 18.
