Russian online retail stores were hit by deadly attacks in Ukraine


Ukrainian drones have struck two warehouses belonging to Russia’s largest online retailer Wildberry, killing seven people and injuring 49, Russian officials said.

The dead and 25 others were injured at the warehouse in the city of Tambov, 295 miles (475 km) south-east of Moscow. The remaining 24 injuries occurred at another Wilberis warehouse in Elektrostal in the Moscow region.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the main logistics facilities targeted were “supplying contraband for drone manufacturing and shipping equipment.”

He added that Ukraine had struck targets in the Sea of ​​Azov, the Black Sea and Russia’s annexed Crimea.

Zelensky said Ukraine’s actions were a response to “Russian attacks on our civilian infrastructure and our cities and communities.” At least 14 people have been killed in Russian attacks in Ukraine overnight.

Tatyana Kim, chief executive of Wildberry, said it was a “terrible night” for Russia and the company.

“Seven people working the night shift died on the spot,” Tambov regional governor Yevgeny Pervishov said in a telegram, adding that 28 drones were shot down as they approached.

25 people have been reported injured, one person is in serious condition and 6 people are in critical condition. Most of these injuries were caused by lacerations, he said.

Meanwhile, Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov said some of those injured in the attack on the Wilberis warehouse in Elektrostal were in a “serious condition”.

A total of 48 drones were shot down overnight in the Moscow region and a Russian oil storage depot was hit by a downed drone; He stated that this incident is very serious.

“Firefighters, emergency services and the Ministry of Emergency Affairs continue to work at the site,” he wrote in a telegram. He did not elaborate on the extent of the damage. Zelensky independently confirmed that he hit Ukraine’s “oil facility”.
