Russian armed attack injures 11 in Kyiv | News of the Russian-Ukrainian war


In the latest of the war’s deadliest months, Russia hit Kyiv with 121 ballistic missiles and drones.

A massive explosion of night missiles and special weapons launched by Russia has hit several areas in the Ukrainian city, injuring at least 11 people and destroying infrastructure.

The Euromaidan Press reported that the first attacks took place in the city center at 3:38am (00:38 GMT), two minutes before the sirens were set off at 3:40am, giving citizens no time to take cover.

According to the Ukrainian military, Russia sent six Iskander-M or S-400 missiles from the Bryansk region, along with six technical missiles and 121 drones. Although the defense forces successfully downed 111 drones and two sea missiles, all six targets breached the border.

The newspaper Ukrainska Pravda reported that a railway train was severely damaged by the huge explosion, while a warehouse near the pharmacy suffered major damage. The weekly strike follows a a significant increase in Russian activity towards the capital from the beginning of this month. According to local authorities, recent violence in Kyiv and rural areas has killed more than 60 people since the beginning of July.

Beyond the capital, the Ukrainian Air Force confirmed that Russia’s international missile and drone campaign had hit at least 11 locations across the country.
