“Roma” competes with “Inter” to acquire the Bulgarian companion

“Roma” and “Inter” want to keep… Algerian football player Rafik Belgali in the Italian leagueAfter his team, Hella Verona was relegated to the second division.

The Algerian right-back turned 24 last month and won widespread praise for the fine performances he put in while representing his country at the World Cup, which was held in the USA, Mexico and Canada.

The player moved to Italian football just over a year ago through Hellas Verona, who paid nearly two million euros to sign his services from Belgian club KV Mechelen.

Belgali scored two goals in 26 appearances in the Italian league, but was unable to save his side from relegation to the second tier.

Belgali suffered a pair of ankle injuries that kept him out of action and out of his squad between January and March 2026.

He confirmed French “Foot Mercato” chain Roma management have listed Belgali as their main option and priority for the right-back position, especially after Juventus managed to poach defender Zaki Celik from the Giallorossi.

The Algerian star is also on Inter Milan’s long list of candidates to replace Dutchman Denzel Dumfries after the Nerazzurri failed to complete deals for Marco Balestra and Anan Khalili.

Previous reports have linked the player’s name with apparent interest from other Italian clubs led by Fiorentina and Bologna.

The financial cost required to give up Bulghali is around €15m and if Roma do move in a formal offer, it will be on a loan with an eventual buyout option.
