Robert Lewandowski: The Poland striker will leave Barcelona at the end of the season

His last game for the club will be at the Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday against Real Betis, with Barca finishing their campaign at Valencia the following Saturday.

Coach Hansi Flick, who coached Lewandowski at Bayern Munich, confirmed Lewandowski will start against Betis.

“He spoke to the team, said goodbye and it was a great time for him in Barcelona,” Flick said.

“I’ve worked with Robert for a couple of years now, and we’ve won nine (trophies) together – all the titles I’ve won have been with him.

“Working with him is a privilege for me. He is a professional player. Every day he gives his body the best to be at the highest level.

“He’s the perfect role model for young players – a great person, but also a world-class player. That’s why he’s still playing at this level.”

Barcelona also paid tribute to the forward in a statement as they added: “Thank you, Robert Lewandowski, for every goal, for every (bit) fight and for every magical moment wearing these colours. He came as a star, he left as a legend.”
