Riquelme: “Real” wastes tens of millions on 40 people

Real Madrid’s presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme has come out with strong new statements, criticizing the current economic policies of the Florentino Perez administration, in addition to the lack of players in the ranks of the Spanish national football team.

Today, Friday, Riquelme told the famous Spanish journalist Miguel Soriano. “There are a lot of expenses in Real Madrid that are pointless. There are more than 40 people in the club, just administrative heads, not players or coaches, each of whom receives more than a million euros a year.”

He continued: “They are more than 40 people, the general director receives more than 10 million euros annually.”

Criticizing the financial situation of the club’s media, Riquelme added: “The Real Madrid channel receives a budget of 45 million euros, but it barely reaches 0.1 viewers… From this point of view alone, we can reduce the costs of 140 million euros.”

In terms of sports, he said. “It is a pity that Real Madrid does not have any players in the Spanish national team. A club like Real Madrid, considered to be the biggest in the world… Does Spain have any of the 25 players on their roster?

“As a Real Madrid fan, this really hurts me. If I become president, we will not allow this to happen again at the next World Cup.”
