On October 28, 2025, more than 2,500 police officers stormed two favelas in Rio de Janeiro. They were fighting the leaders of the Red Command, one of the largest drug trafficking groups in Brazil. By the end of the day, more than 120 people had died, resulting in the bloodshed of the police in Brazil.

After that, the police left without protection. The bodies were left behind, and law enforcement teams never came. Residents found themselves dead, which removed the evidence against what happened.
