Review: Xgimi Titan Noir Max Home Projector (2026)

To test the deep blacks, I enabled DBLE and played with many settings, including noise reduction and sharpness. My favorite sci-fi film that explores the dark side is The Creatorespecially the early morning scene in the film. Televisions and projectors with poor contrast and high brightness make this video look washed out, but the Titan Noir Max made blacks and dark grays look rich without poor contrast, much helped by the dynamic iris and DBLE.

That said, the Titan Noir Max hasn’t done any testing with flying colors. Avatar: Fire and Ashes it looks alive and well on the Epson ProCinema LS9000, which uses a high-quality lens that does an excellent job of focusing the entire image. While the Titan Noir Max looks amazing, bright, and sharp in a scene with whale-like creatures on a sunny day, the LS9000 beats it in terms of quality and focus. That scene looks exactly the same on the Leica Cine Play 1 as on the Titan with vivid colors.

And then I started experimenting in a bright room. Many projectors, including the Leica Cine Play 1, do not perform well in a bright room. Titan Noir Max was still impressive during the battle in the movie War Machine on Netflix, especially when the event is outdoors. I looked again Unbreakable and the colors were bright and unwashed. However, in the darkest form of the movie Wake upwhat happens at night, the picture quality is not great. All of them Wake up and Tron: Ares it looks impressive in a dark room, but washed out in a sunny room.

Sports Glory and Everything Else

I was pretty sold on darkroom photography but wanted to try a more powerful iris. That’s where the game is 007: The Greatest Light on Xbox came in handy. There’s an impressive scene late in the game on a boat with beautiful flowers that looks great on my 120-inch projector screen. The maximum size of this model is 300 inches, or large enough to fit through a double garage door. I did not test this because, at 18 pounds, the Titan Noir Max is not very stable.

Colors changed lightning fast in the night time section Brightest, change from bright sun to dark clouds and few shades of black. Titan Noir Max constantly and instantly adapts to these tonal changes. You can hear the iris changing slowly if you enable this feature, which I like but some may find annoying. It’s all of the guns in the game or on the riot film like Hoppersyou will not feel angry.
