Klopp’s relationship with Bayern has been fraught with rivalry in the past, particularly when he was Borussia Dortmund manager from 2008 to 2015.

He led Dortmund to league titles in 2011 and 2012, as well as a historic 5-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the 2012 German Cup final.
