A few days before the expected confrontation between Morocco and Brazil in the 2026 World Cup, the FIFA Refereeing Committee announced the identity of the refereeing team that will officiate the match.
In one of the most high-profile games of the tour, FIFA tasked the European Refereeing Team, led by Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic, officiating the match amid high anticipation for the Group C summit.
He will be assisted in officiating the match by his compatriots Tomad Klancnik as first assistant referee and Andraz Kovacic as second assistant referee, while Switzerland’s Sandro Scherer takes over as the fourth official and Stephanie de Almeida assists him as reserve assistant referee.
The match is planned to be held on the night of June 14, 2026 in the framework of Group C, which includes Haiti and Scotland in addition to Morocco and Brazil.
The new edition of the World Cup kicks off on June 10 and runs until July 19, hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico in what is considered one of the biggest tournaments in the tournament’s history, featuring 48 teams for the first time.
