Record Club is trying to be Letterboxd for music professionals

There is nothing as strong as Good reading or Letterboxd for music lovers, but Record Club he wants to change that. Yes, we did Rate Your Songsbut the interface is full, and it seems more geared towards long-term monitoring than publishing what you listen to and connecting with other fans. Record Club is clean and modern, with a control interface similar to Letterboxd.

The basics you would expect from such a site are there. You can read and review articles or mark them as listened. You can also see what your friends are listening to and see what albums are trending with other users. There is space on your profile to list your five favorite albums, including the five records you play the most. You can also create your own playlists (ranked or unranked) and share them – useful for keeping track of your top songs of the year, or putting together a random tutorial of some sort. You can also add records to your queue, so you can keep track of albums you want to listen to, but haven’t yet. (I will be using this a lot.)

You can follow your favorite artists as well all documents. This makes it easy to stay on top of new artists on labels like 4AD, AD 93, Fire Talk, and Warp. Record Club pulls everything from the open music encyclopedia MusicBrainz. When you register, follow meI see what I’m spinning again this week.
