Real Madrid issued an official statement on Saturday evening strongly denying media reports linking it to Bayern Munich’s attempts to sign Michael Olisse, stressing that it has not been in contact “directly or indirectly” with the player, his representatives or anyone close to him.
According to a statement published on the club’s official website, Real Madrid highlighted the “excellent institutional relationship” it has with Bayern Munich, based on a long history of mutual respect, cooperation and admiration, while expressing regret for the spread of untrue speculation.
The statement underlines a fundamental point, which is that both clubs share a strong belief that any potential interest in the other’s player must arise between the two organizations themselves, in accordance with the principles of institutional loyalty that have historically governed the relationship between the two ancient institutions.
This official denial comes a week after Olissey’s name dominated the headlines in the transfer market linked to Real Madrid, with many European media placing the French winger as one of Real’s top targets for next summer, in the €150-220m range.
Bayern Munich, for their part, have maintained their firm and resolute stance, stating publicly and privately many times that the winger is not for sale and that they have no intention of negotiating his departure under any circumstances.
Olissi, who is under contract until 2029, recently won the Bundesliga’s Player of the Year award with 22 goals and 31 assists in 52 games, with the Bavarian club set to finalize a contract extension.
In recent weeks, the president of Bayern Munich, Herbert Hainer, has been very clear about the situation of the French winger, saying to the German newspaper Bild. “If Florentino Perez wants to make us an offer for Olissi, which has not happened so far, he can save himself.
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old continues to play for France at the ongoing 2026 World Cup, a tournament that has significantly increased his market value and made him a target for many of Europe’s biggest clubs.
“In response to various media reports regarding our club’s alleged interest in Bayern’s Michael Olissi, Real Madrid would like to clarify that it has had no direct or indirect contact with the aforementioned player, his representatives or anyone in his entourage.
“Real Madrid would also like to highlight the excellent institutional relationship between itself and Bayern Munich, with whom it shares a long history of mutual respect, cooperation and admiration, and regrets the spread of untrue speculation.”
“The two clubs have always maintained a relationship based on trust and mutual respect, which is reflected, among other aspects, in the shared belief that any potential interest in a player belonging to the other club must first be resolved between the two organizations in accordance with the principles of institutional loyalty that have historically governed the relationship between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.”
