Rabia reveals the secret of the pharaohs’ power to Saddam Messi

Egypt defender Rami Rabia has confirmed that the Pharaohs are looking to make history for themselves and their country after their historic qualification for the 2026 World Cup finals by knocking out Australia on penalties.

After the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw after full-time and extra time, before a 4-2 decision on penalties, the Emirati Al Ain player said:

Rabia, who converted Egypt’s second penalty, added: “This is what we are trying to establish. We want to show the world that we are making history for ourselves and our country.”

The 33-year-old defender explained that the team, which secured its first group stage victory over New Zealand 3-1 in the World Cup final and reached the knockout stage for the first time, “are playing with a lot of confidence now.

Referring to the huge public support at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, where the Egyptian fans drowned out the Australians, Rabia said:

He continued. “We play to make them happy and their happiness drives us to give everything we have in every game. When they’re happy, we feel like we’re on the right track.”

Rabia concluded by saying: “We don’t want to disappoint them and we know how much they love football and support Egypt. This is a big burden, but at the same time it is a strong motivation for us.”
