Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani told the Shangri-La Dialogue that his country will oppose any threat to transit through the Strait of Hormuz. He also said that Qatar would receive temporary funding that could be negotiated, if it could be used to help reopen the waterway, by removing sea mines, for example.
