Prosecutors allege that D4vd had financial incentives to kill Celeste Rivas Hernandez | Los Angeles

Singer D4vd had a multimillion-dollar record deal, an executive at his former label testified Wednesday, as prosecutors allege the singer had money to kill Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

Details of how much Interscope Records was paying the singer, who was born David Anthony Burke, on the second day of the trial to determine if there is a valid reason to be charged for the murder and rape of Rivas Hernandez.

The body of the teenager was found last year in a terrible condition in a car owned by the singer.

Prosecutors accuse Burke of stabbing Rivas Hernandez, 14, to death. Los Angeles being to prevent him from revealing the sexuality of their relationship as his work is on the rise.

Burke pleaded innocent to crimes including first degree murder, “sexual and indecent acts” with a child under the age of 14, and mutilation. His defense team said their client was “not responsible” for Hernandez’s death.

During the first day of the trial on Tuesday, prosecutors showed photos of Rivas Hernandez’s dismembered and decomposing body, with allegations that the singer had severed his body. They also wanted to show that the singer used his credit cards to buy a chainsaw, a body bag and a shovel.

The preliminary hearing is expected to last between three and five days.

Burke, now 21, was was arrested in April and has been in prison since then without bail.

If convicted of murder, he could face the death penalty, or life in prison without parole.

Rivas Hernandez’s family was in court for the hearing to begin Tuesday. After Burke’s arrest in April, the family said: “Celeste was a beautiful, brave girl who loved to sing and dance. Every Friday night was movie night and we spent time together. We loved her so much and she always told us she loved us. We miss her so much. All we want is justice for Celeste.”
