Luke Littler came through an 11-10 thriller against Luke Humphries to become the Premier League champion at the O2 in London.

It was a truly dramatic affair that marked the trilogy Premier League final between the world No.1 and No.2. Littler achieved glory in 2024, Humphries returned in 2025. ‘The Nuke’ reclaimed the trophy with a match average of over 111

The win saw him take home £350,000, while runner-up Humphries collected £170,000.

With the win, Littler now holds eight major titles – World Darts Championship, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, Grand Slam, Players Championship, UK Open, World Masters and now the Premier League.

Both players sealed their place in the final after last-leg epics. Littler survived an almost almighty comeback to go down 9-4 to Garwin Price in the first semi-final, while Humphries managed to win his last-four clash with Jonny Clayton 10-9.

Remarkably, a possible 59 legs were played on Finals Night and all three matches went full.

Littler was visibly emotional after his victory and admitted that the Premier League campaign had taken its toll with the crowd often against him. The boon he received stemmed from an incident with Gian van Veen in Manchester when the Dutchman took issue with Littler celebrating a missed match dart.

“The first four weeks it was a rollercoaster, bottom of the table, but then on the fifth night I won my first night. I had to pick myself up, some tough times,” Littler said. Sky Sports.

“I think I averaged 79 at Brighton and it was tough. But I brought the trophy here.

“After what happened in Brighton and Manchester, I sat at home and said to Biswas (his partner) ‘I don’t want to do this anymore, just crowds every week’. I told him ‘I’m bad’.”

Littler and Humphries put on a show in a world-class Premier League final

The trilogy encounter was one of the most scintillating Premier League finals we’ve seen as Littler and Humphries went toe-to-toe in an intense 21-leg battle.

The first session was all about Humphries as he averaged 114.73 and produced what can only be described as a masterclass with a tops-tops finish of 134, 112, then 121 to go 6-3 up on the bullseye.

Indeed, it took an 11-darter from Littler to stop the rot as he went into the break trailing 6-4.

Littler always says he bounces back after a break and it showed once again that the contest was truly nip and tuck – Humphries came back to lead 7-5 after an 11-dart break throw from Littler.

Humphries then spurned a number of chances as the world number one leveled at 7-7 before closing in on the finish to prime the score at 9-9.

Littler looked like he had it all wrapped up when he found six perfect darts to throw a 10-dart break that put him a foot away from victory, but Humphries showed nerves of steel to pull out a pressing D4.

However, Littler did not back down and nailed the Topps to claim a second Premier League title.

Littler comes through the epic against Price

Despite Price being the heavy scorer in the opening exchanges of their semi-final, Littler was more in control and rattled off five legs in a row to go 9-4 up and one leg ahead of another Premier League final.

However, Price then found his groove and remarkably took five consecutive legs of his own, en route to a sensational 124 finish to level it at 9-9.

There was some drama in the 15th leg when Price hit a 170 mid-leg and playfully reeled in ‘The Big Fish’ to the crowd.

The world No. 1 was not impressed with his eyeline celebration and complained to referee Hoover. Ware then alerted Price who quickly apologized to his opponent, putting his arm around Littler.

Despite the drama, normal service resumed in the final leg and, with Price’s scoring eluding him at precisely the wrong moment, Littler took his seventh match dart in the D16 to ensure he was in the ‘Big Dance’.

Shows class in battle with Humphries Clayton

In a similar display to the first semi-final, Humphries and Clayton clashed in the opening exchanges which saw the world No 2 lead 6-4, but, as has been evident throughout this Premier League, the Welshman kept coming.

That fighting spirit fueled ‘The Ferret’ throughout the contest and after bringing the score to 7-7, a 10-darter and a break of throws put the Welshman one step away from victory.

However, Humphries has also earned a reputation for his resilience this Premier League campaign, fighting hard to make it to finals night and it came to the fore again when he triumphed in some style, avenging three legs in a row with a clutch 121 finish, to give him the chance to retain his title.

It was a bittersweet ending for Clayton who was upset by some suspicious whistling during his match darts.
